Hello!
My name is Angie (Boice ) Adams. I am a life-long West Virginian and life-long Conservative. My husband, Roger, and I live in rural Wirt County. We have been married 32 years and have three adult children and were recently blessed with a precious grand-daughter. I love to take walks in a freshly cut hayfield with my dog, Millie. I also love to travel and see the wonders of God’s Creation. I have been to all 50 states and several foreign countries, but my favorite is coming home to Almost Heaven!
First and foremost, I am a Christian. All decisions I make as a legislator will be viewed through that prism. I am active in my church, teach children’s bible class and lead a ladies’ bible discussion. One of the reasons I first got involved in politics was to protect life at all stages and honor the sanctity of marriage.
I am passionate about conservative politics! As the Wirt County Republican Executive Committee Chairperson, for over two decades I have worked to elect quality candidates to county-wide, state-wide, and national offices who will stand up for conservative principles
I understand the challenges of small businesses in our area. For 11 years I was the photographer owner of Slice of Life Photography and loved capturing the special moments of thousands of local families.
I believe that all children deserve the opportunity to have a great education and I believe all families should be able to choose how best to educate their children. My husband, children, and myself are all graduates of Wirt County High School. I was a sports mom, Parent Teacher Organization President, and served on the Local School Improvement Committee. I organized bake sales, Christmas stores, field days, concession stands and I made more chocolate chip cookies and crocks of hot dog sauce that I want to even think about. I understand and appreciate the busy lives of working families and will view my legislative votes as an opportunity to make your lives easier.
I will work to ensure that West Virginia continues to embody our motto, “Mountaineers are Always Free.” Personal freedoms are a bedrock of our society. I believe my neighbors and constituents can make decisions better than a politician sitting behind a desk. When I vote, I will always err on the side of medical freedom, the 2nd Amendment, and land owner rights.
I have been a military wife and military mom. My husband is an Army combat veteran and my son is currently active-duty Army. I understand the value of military service and I believe that our veterans deserve the best medical and mental health care.
We need to make sure that our homes and families are safe. I support law and order. I support funding our state and local police and making sure they have the tools to get criminals off our streets and out of our neighborhoods. We must tackle the drug problem that has plagued our state. We need to stop the traffickers, arrest the dealers, and have the resources available to get users clean and sober.
If elected, I promise to remember that each and every dollar that the government spends came out of one of your pockets. I believe that YOU can spend your money better than the government can and I pledge to be fiscally responsible with YOUR money.
God has blessed West Virginia with an amazing abundance of natural resources. I believe that we can and should use our natural resources like petroleum, natural gas, and clean coal to fuel our homes and our economy, at the same time we can protect our unsurpassed natural beauty for the next generation. I grew up hunting deer and raising livestock for 4-H projects and I want to make sure my grandchildren will have those same opportunities.
Finally, I want to make West Virginia a place that our children are excited to come home to. West Virginia, especially this 14th District, is a special place of a simple life, where neighbors help neighbors, deer season is a family holiday, and ATVs often outnumber the cars on our backroads. We need to make sure these simple pleasures do not fade away. At the same time, we need to broaden our horizons, make our roads safe and smooth, and make our broadband internet lightening fast so cyber businesses and home workers can thrive. We also need to prepare our young people to exit high school ready to enter the workforce, especially encouraging high-paying trade jobs. Together we can help bring more prosperity (and our children) home to Wild, Wonderful West Virginia!
